# Is IPTV legal?

IPTV is a technology, and the technology is legal. Whether watching is legal depends on what you watch and who provides it. Here's how to tell the difference.

## The technology is legal

IPTV simply means TV over the internet. Telecom companies, broadcasters and streaming services use it every day. Player apps like Zapvo are legal too: like a web browser or a video player, they play what you give them.

## The content and the provider matter

A provider needs the rights to every channel, movie and series it offers. Licensed providers have them; many cheap "IPTV subscriptions" don't. Watching unlicensed content can be illegal where you live, and it hurts the people who make it.

## Warning signs

- Thousands of premium channels from all over the world for a few euros a month
- No company name, no address, no terms
- Payment only by crypto, gift cards or a private transfer
- Sold through chat groups or social media ads

## Where Zapvo stands

Zapvo doesn't provide, sell or recommend any content or provider, and it doesn't contain any playlists. We ask you to use it only with sources you're allowed to use. Rights holders can reach us through our [copyright notices](https://zapvo.app/en/copyright) page.

This page is general information, not legal advice. The rules differ from country to country.

## Bring your playlist. Zapvo does the rest.

Install Zapvo, add your source and watch. Every feature is free for 30 days, no card needed.
